How is my IDT application assessed for Eligibility

Applications are reviewed in two stages.

During the first stage review the central National IDT team check if:

Specialty is eligible

You are not requesting a transfer within the same region (Intra-Deanery Transfer)
You have more than 12 months remaining in your programme at the earliest point of transfer for the particular window
You are available for transfer within the specified window of transfer for the iteration of the process

At that stage we cannot yet confirm if you meet the specific criteria for your criterion or if you will secure a transfer to a suitable post.

The next step is for us to collate all the applications, anonymise them, and then send on to the regions. This is called the Vacancy Declaration process. Once we receive the information back from the regions, we will then attempt to match you to suitable vacant posts. During the matching process we will review your application to ensure you have the correct evidence for your criterion.

During the second stage review we check you application for:

Unforeseen and/or significant change after commencement to current training programme

Any required supporting document (if applicable)

Any required evidence

ARCP outcome (if applicable)

An application will only receive the second check where they have been identified to receive a conditional offer.

If your application is not identified for an offer during the vacancy declaration process, your evidence will not be reviewed.

Applicants not highlighted to receive a conditional offer at the end of the process, will receive notification of ‘no vacancy’ and the application closed.
