I anticipate a change in my circumstances in the future. Can I apply?

In order to be eligible to transfer under criterion 1 - 4, a change of circumstances must have already occurred. It must also have occurred after accepting an offer of a post in a training programme.

This is because vacancies available through the transfer process are limited and it is intended that these will be allocated to those trainees who need immediate support in transferring to a different geographical region.

Please note: The only exception here is in relation to pregnancy or those undergoing IVF treatment. Under these situations a future event will be taken into account.

If any of the above does not apply to you, then you can apply under criterion 5 for which trainees are not required to demonstrate any change to personal circumstances and therefore an IDT can be requested for any reason that is not covered by criterion 1-4.
