I have claimed early reimbursement for a mandatory course, but I am no longer able to attend the course. How do I return the money to NHSE?

If you are no longer able to attend a prebooked course, you should liaise with the course provider to see whether it is possible to rebook for a later date. If this is not possible, you should endeavour to obtain a refund for your course fee. Once the refund has been received from the course provider, please contact the PGME team at your current Trust to advise that the funds need to be returned to NHSE. This should always be done via your current employing Trust, even if this is a different Trust to the one through which you received the original payment. Your Trust PGME team will then liaise with payroll to ensure that the funds are deducted from a future payroll run.

If you are not able to obtain a refund for your course fee and you need to rebook the course a second time at a later date, please contact the study leave team at NHSE for further guidance on how to proceed.
