What are placeholders and why are they appearing on the TRoG?

LaSE use placeholders to standardise the way vacant post information is sent to Trust colleagues:

‘HOLD’ categories are used to advise that placement information for this post is not currently available and HET cannot yet confirm if this post will be filled with a trainee or not. When a HOLD placeholder appears in TRoG, there will be a subsequent update via the data changes sheet to indicate if the post has been filled with a trainee or authorisation has been given to recruit locally.

‘RECRUIT’ categories are used to advise that a post has been left vacant following the rotation planning process and the reason as to why. This placeholder provides confirmation for the trust to commence local recruitment processes for dates provided.
