How and when can I apply for entry onto the Specialist / GP Register?

Modified on Wed, 17 May, 2023 at 2:28 PM

The GMC will invite you to apply approximately four months before your expected completion of training date. The relevant Royal College/Faculty will make a recommendation to the GMC confirming your completion of training, once you have been awarded with an Outcome 6 at your final ARCP. Each College/Faculty manages this differently but all have information on their website for trainees to refer to. Before you contact the College/Faculty please make sure you have completed your final ARCP 6 and this has been signed off in your ePortfolio (or via paper for those specialties that still use this method). You must make your application to the GMC within 12 months of your completion of training date, otherwise you will need to apply for Specialist / GP registration through the CESR route.
