You can apply for entry onto the Specialist List once you have successfully completed your Certificate of Completion of Specialty Training (CCST). Here’s what you need to know:
Timing – You can apply up to four months before your expected completion date, once your final ARCP Outcome 6 has been awarded.
Application Process – The General Dental Council (GDC) requires a recommendation form (REC1) from NHS England (NHSE), confirming that you have completed an approved National Training Number (NTN) programme. This can only be issued after ARCP Outcome 6 has been issued and confirmation of successful final exam result (specialty relevant) has been received by NHSE WT&E (Workforce Training and Education) team.
Requirements – You must have a satisfactory final ARCP and have passed the relevant Royal College exit examination before applying.
Submission Deadline – Applications must be made within 12 months of completing training, or you may need to apply via an alternative route.
