I am currently out of programme, can I apply?

Modified on Tue, 2 May, 2023 at 8:20 AM

Trainees requesting an IDT whilst out of programme (OOP) should apply during the application window that would allow for a transfer after their return to training date and within the national timetable for transfers during that window of IDT.

Trainees who are currently on OOP should not apply for a transfer which will take place before their return to the training programme as they will not be found eligible for an IDT.

Prospective training regions are not obliged to continue OOP arrangements that have been agreed between trainees and other training regions and the National IDT process is unable to hold vacancies open for trainees who are not able to fill them until a future date.

This is because vacancies available through the transfer process are limited and it is intended that these will be allocated to those trainees who need immediate support in transferring to a different geographical region.
