Please note that NHS England may use Artificial Intelligence (AI) to improve the efficiency and consistency of PGMDE services; and that AI may be used to support administrative processes, including analysis of information, generating draft responses, and supporting decision-making workflows (subject to relevant organisation approvals).
AI will be used only where appropriate safeguards are in place. These include:
- Use of NHSE approved AI tools operating within secure, encrypted systems
- Ensuring personal data is processed lawfully, fairly and transparently
- Ensuring personal data is not entered into unapproved publicly accessible AI tools
- Ensuring personal data is not used to train external AI models
- Applying human oversight to all outputs and decisions supported by AI
- Individuals remain responsible for decisions and AI outputs are always subject to review
