What this article is about
This article explains what to do if you need to reset your Oriel password.
Who this is for
Applicants, doctors and dentists in training who use Oriel and cannot sign in because they have forgotten their password or need to change it.
What you need to know
- Oriel is used for recruitment and application processes.
- You are responsible for keeping your Oriel sign-in details secure.
- Password resets are managed through Oriel, not directly by HET.
- You should use the email address registered to your Oriel account.
- You should check your junk or spam folder if the reset email does not arrive.
- Your account will be locked after three unsuccessful log in attempts.
- HET cannot reset your Oriel password for you but your account can be unlocked to allow you to reset your password.
What to do
- Go to Oriel sign-in page.
- Select the forgotten password or password reset option.
- Enter the email address linked to your Oriel account.
- Follow the instructions sent to your email address.
- Check your junk or spam folder if the email does not arrive.
- Try signing in again after resetting your password.
- If you still cannot access your account, raise a query through the recruitment support route.
If this does not work
If you do not receive a reset email, check that you are using the correct email address and that the message has not been filtered by your email provider. If the problem continues, contact the recruitment support route.
Who to contact
Use the recruitment support route for Oriel password issues. Use the PGMDE Support Portal only where your query relates to a HET managed process.
What HET can and cannot help with
HET can help with
- Advising on how to reset your password.
- Unlocking your Oriel account when you have exceeded your attempts to log in
HET cannot help with
- Resetting your Oriel password.
- Accessing your Oriel account on your behalf.
- Changing recruitment application information outside the published process.
- Providing technical support for email systems that HET does not manage.
