Your Oriel account is locked: What to do next

Applicants, doctors and dentists in training who cannot access their Oriel account.

What you need to know

• Account lockouts may happen after repeated failed sign-in attempts or account security checks.
• You should use the email address registered to your Oriel account.
• You should not create multiple accounts unless the Oriel guidance tells you to do so.
• Account access issues should be raised as early as possible, especially if a deadline is approaching.
• HET can unlock your Oriel account but not reset your password, which you must do yourself.

What to do

1. Check that you are using the correct email address and password.
2. Use the password reset option if you are unsure of your password.
3. Check your email, including junk or spam folders, for any Oriel security or reset messages.
4. Raise a query through recruitment support route if you still cannot access the account.
5. Include your full name, applicant ID if available, recruitment round, email address used and a clear description of the issue.
6. If a deadline is close, make this clear in your query.

If this does not work
If your account cannot be unlocked in time for a deadline, the recruitment team will advise what can and cannot be done under the published recruitment process.
