What this article is about
This article explains how to request reasonable adjustments for an interview or assessment.
Who this is for
Applicants who need adjustments for an interview, assessment, communication, platform or other recruitment stage.
What you need to know

- Recruitment adjustments are separate from workplace adjustments after appointment.
- Approval of an adjustment does not guarantee an offer.
What to do
- Read the recruitment or interview guidance on requesting adjustments.
- Identify the adjustment you need and explain which part of the interview process it applies to.
- Submit your request through the published route before the deadline.
- Provide supporting information if requested and ensure that the evidence provided corresponds with the adjustment you request..
- Check the confirmation carefully.
- Contact the recruitment support route promptly if the adjustment has not been confirmed or applied.
- If your needs change, tell the recruitment team as soon as possible.
If this does not work
If an adjustment has not been put in place and your interview is soon, raise the issue urgently through the recruitment support route and make clear when your interview is taking place.
