What this article is about
This article explains where to raise questions about special circumstances or reasonable adjustments.
Who this is for
Applicants, doctors and dentists in training, new starters, Trust colleagues and programme teams who need advice on the correct route for a special circumstances or adjustment query.
What you need to know
- The correct contact depends on whether the query relates to recruitment, training, placement planning, workplace arrangements, events or employment.
- HET can usually advise on training-related special circumstances and training process adjustments.
- Employers are responsible for workplace adjustments, contracts, pay, rota arrangements and employment policies.
- Recruitment teams manage recruitment process adjustments.
- Event organisers manage practical event adjustments where they administer the event.
- You should include enough information for your query to be routed correctly.
What to do
When raising a query, include your full name, professional registration number, if applicable, specialty or programme, training level or applicant stage, current or expected placement, if relevant, the process your query relates to, what support or consideration you are requesting, any relevant dates or deadlines, and whether the matter is urgent.
If this does not work
If your query is not owned by HET, you may be redirected to your employer, recruitment team, event organiser, occupational health provider or another relevant route.
Who to contact
Use the PGMDE Support Portal for HET training-related queries. Contact your employer for workplace and employment matters. Contact the relevant recruitment team for recruitment process adjustments.
