Who is the indemnity provider?

Modified on Thu, 5 May, 2022 at 4:12 PM

From August 2021 clinical indemnity for trainees in London is provided by the Medical and Dental Defence Union of Scotland (MDDUS).

Clinical Indemnity for trainees in KSS is provided by the Medical Protection Society (MPS).

The cover is for all primary and community care placements.  In hospital placements you are covered by CNST (commonly known as Crown Indemnity).

The indemnity will provide full clinical negligence, medico-legal support, and good Samaritan cover support for doctors in these training programmes when training in a general practice or a non-NHS setting (e.g., local authority, voluntary and third sector, hospice, etc.).

The scheme does not provide clinical negligence cover for any work undertaken in a private / independent healthcare setting, or for locum work
