GP trainees and sickness absence

Modified on Tue, 17 Jan, 2023 at 12:14 PM

If you are taking time off from the training programme for sickness and the sum of absences exceeds 14 days within a training specialty year then a review of training should be undertaken by your GP Officer and a decision will be made as to whether the expected end of training date needs to be adjusted. For periods of prolonged sickness from work you may be required to have an Occupational Health assessment before returning to your training programme. Further guidance can be found on this web link
