What is a Support Meeting?

Modified on Wed, 06 Dec 2017 at 04:03 PM

A support meeting, is a meeting with the Postgraduate Dental Dean or Associate Postgraduate Dental Dean and your Training Programme Director. These meetings are designed to support trainees with any difficulties they may have encountered and are opportunity to explore options available to the trainees. All support meetings are confidential.

Below is a list of some of the reasons we offer support meetings, but please note this is not an exhaustive list and should you wish to have a support meeting for another reason, please contact LaSE Healthcare Education Team or your TPD:

  1. Health problems impacting your training

  2. Request for an OOP during last year of training

  3. Been involved in an SI or complaint

  4. Trainee has been reported to the GDC

  5. Personal circumstances impacting your training

  6. Concerns which may have been raised by your employer

  7. Concerns which you would like to raise about your current post.

  8. Examination failure

  9. An extension has been offered at your ARCP
