Dealing with problems in your application (errors, missing data, late changes)

Modified on Tue, 8 Sep at 1:55 PM

What this article is about
This article explains what to do if you notice a problem with your application.

Who this is for
Applicants who have made an error, have missing information, experience a technical issue or need to report a late change.

What you need to know

  • You are responsible for checking your application before submitting it.
  • Application systems may not allow changes after submission or after the deadline.
  • Late changes are only accepted where the published process allows them.
  • Technical issues should be reported as soon as possible and before the deadline wherever possible.
  • Missing, inaccurate or unsupported information may affect eligibility, scoring or progression.
  • Do not submit false or misleading information.

What to do

  1. Check the application guidance for amendment rules.
  2. If the application window is still open, update your application if the system allows it.
  3. If the application has closed, raise a query through the recruitment support route.
  4. Explain clearly what the problem is and when you noticed it.
  5. Include the programme, recruitment round, application section affected and any screenshots if relevant.
  6. Keep a copy of your query and any response.
  7. Follow any instructions given by the recruitment team.

If this does not work
If the recruitment team cannot amend your application, the submitted information may be used as it stands. If you believe there has been a process error, follow the published complaint or review route.

Who to contact
Use the recruitment support route for application problems. Use the PGMDE Support Portal only where your query relates to a HET local process after recruitment information has been received.

What HET can and cannot help with
HET can help with

  • Directing you to the correct recruitment support route.
  • Supporting local onboarding queries after recruitment data is received.
  • Correcting HET-held local training data where appropriate after appointment.

HET cannot help with

  • Editing your application after the deadline outside the published process.
  • Accepting missing evidence outside the published process.
  • Changing recruitment scores or outcomes.
  • Submitting a complaint on your behalf.
