Yes,. However, you do not have to do all the leg work yourself – supervising an audit process is entirely acceptable (if not more relevant to your future role). Alternatively you could do a quality improvement project. However the audit/QIP should have some genuine governance over it, with evidence that it was registered, properly conducted, results presented and actioned, and change evaluated.
