If an applicant states a preference for some programmes and stated no-preference for others, then it is possible for them to be upgraded from a ‘no-preference’ programme to one that they assigned a preference to, as part of the upgrade facility. An applicant will always be made an upgraded offer for a programme they considered to be of greater priority than their first offer if they opt into upgrading. A student would not be made a subsequent offer for a ‘no-preference’ programme if the first offer that they accepted with upgrades was for a programme that they assigned a preference to.
Is it likely that applicants will receive an upgrade to a non-preferenced programme?
