What this article is about
This article explains what evidence may be needed when applying for special circumstances.
Who this is for
Doctors and dentists in training preparing a special circumstances request.
What you need to know
- Evidence is needed so that requests can be considered fairly and consistently.
- The evidence should explain the circumstances and why they affect training or placement arrangements.
- The evidence required will depend on the reason for the request.
- You should only provide information that is relevant to the request.
- Sensitive information should be handled carefully and only shared where needed.
- Missing or unclear evidence may delay the outcome or mean the request cannot be approved.
What to do
- Check what evidence is requested for your application type.
- Gather current and relevant evidence before applying.
- Make sure evidence confirms the circumstances you are asking HET to consider.
- Submit the evidence with your application.
- If evidence cannot be provided, explain why and ask what alternative information may be accepted.
- Keep a copy of anything you submit.
- Respond promptly if further evidence or clarification is requested.
If this does not work
If your evidence is not accepted or does not clearly support your request, you may be asked to provide further information. If you cannot provide evidence, your application may be limited in what it can consider.
Who to contact
