The new Internal Medicine Training curriculum comes into force in August 2019. It will replace the current Core Medical Training curriculum. IM Stage 1 programme will comprise the first three years post-foundation training, there will be increased responsibility for the acute medical take and will include mandatory training in geriatric medicine, critical care, outpatients and ambulatory care. Work is currently underway on getting posts and rotations ready for IMT.
