What happens if I am due to rotate to my next placement prior to commencing maternity leave? Who is responsible for my Occupational Maternity Pay (OMP)?

This depends when you are due to rotate. If your current contract expires after the 11th week before your Expected Week of Childbirth (EWC), your employer should normally extend your contract to allow you to remain employed during the period of maternity leave. If your current contract expires before the 11th week before your EWC you can rotate and your next employer will be responsible for your OMP. Please refer to NHS Employers General Maternity Guidance for Doctors in Training.
