What is the National Inter Deanery Transfer process?

Modified on Tue, 6 Aug at 11:36 AM

The National Inter Deanery Transfer (IDT) process aims to support medical trainees who have either had a significant or unforeseen change in circumstances since accepting an offer of a post on a training programme, covered under criterion 1 – 4, or criterion 5 for which trainees are not required to demonstrate any change to personal circumstances and therefore an IDT can be requested for any reason that is not covered by criterion 1-4 and enabling consideration to be given to a possible transfer to another training region.

The national process is aimed at delivering a user-friendly and transparent transfer process, ensuring consistent and robust decision making and providing a single source of information for all stakeholders.
