It is a requirement to your training that you have an annual ARCP although if you are on parental leave on the scheduled date of the ARCP, you are not required to attend. You can ask for your ARCP to be postponed to when you return into the programme with no effect on your training. However, you have the option to attend or be reviewed in absentia if you would like. The panel can give you an ARCP outcome by assessing the time from your last ARCP up until your parental leave. Please remember, the ARCP panel is there to support you and your training. There may be items you may wish to discuss with the panel; when returning to the programme are less than full time options available? What requirements may be needed to complete your year of training once returned from parental leave? Discussions regarding returning to programme earlier or later than planned?
