Who is my Responsible Officer?

Modified on Fri, 19 Jan 2024 at 11:46 AM

Your Responsible Officer (RO), as a postgraduate trainee, will be the Postgraduate Dean responsible for managing your programme, which will normally be according to the geographical location of where your training programme is managed. Pan-London programmes will sometimes have a single RO attached to them.

A list of the responsible Designated Body by programme is attached below.

The Responsible Officer Regulations give specified senior doctors (responsible officers) in certain organisations (designated bodies) functions that will ensure that all doctors work within a managed environment, in which their performance, conduct and behaviour are monitored against agreed national standards.

You do not need to contact your RO directly as the Health Education Team manages all revalidation activity on their behalf.
